SOLO AUF SCHWELLEN (2005)

The composer Isabel Mundry asked me to create a solo for her composition SOLO AUF SCHWELLEN, music for a 'double trumpet'. This trumpet is a unique construction by Marco Blaauw that allows to play micro tonal music and to slide fluently back and forth between two mutes. The subject of the composition being thresholds between spaces, as told by the title, the choreography explores thresholds between different emotional states indicated mostly by micro changes of spine alignment and the moment of hesitation before action.
