POPSONGS (2002)
Performed in absolute stillness,
POPSONGS explores the musicality of dance. It uses the structure of a
pop concert to present seven "songs", or short choreographies,
each one investigating a different emotion or atmosphere. This solo follows
analogies between music and dance in order to make musicality visible
through the movements of the body. A special lighting set up allows the
stage light to be active and reactive, following or communicating with
the dancer at any moment.
